Welcome to the Campaign Desk

Politics is a dirty word. Unfortunately, we see a lot of it surrounding the recreational fishing body. Our Campaign link is here to provide you with relevant information on topical issues that anglers' face. This may include a brief background, relevant contact details on people you may wish to contact in relation to the issue or petitions to sign, which will be forwarded to the relevant authorities.

WE FISH

June 11, 2010

Tired of not being heard and not being consulted? Recreational fishermen Australia wide are uniting and getting behind a simple campaign to let all political parties know enough is enough.  WE FISH, is the name of the campaign.  Simply, it is here to show that we care and that we should be considered when decisions impacting our sport are made.

The aim is to raise 10,000 signatures or more on a single document distributed on websites, at tackle stores and through fishing clubs that will be presented to all political parties "EN MASSE" to show we fishermen are united and strong in number.  We need to be consulted on issues facing our community and scientific data needs to justify the need for the current lock-outs faced by many recreational anglers'.

Our petition statement is this:

"We fish and we have had enough.  We want recognition, consultation, and a fair go. We will vote accordingly in state, federal, and senate elections.  This is a NATIONAL campaign that will be delivered to all parties in Canberra."

Break walls need to be constructed around all boat ramps on the Mornington Peninsula because it is very dangerous to launch and retreave your boat when the wind picks up and at $11 each time to launch your boat( NSW is free! ) i think this money could go towards this. Regards John
